Alternative to Adobe illustrator

I recently found an alternative software to illustrator. This software creates vector artwork with the same tools as found in illustrator. This software is free. The software is called Inkscape I've included a link below.

No matter what I try, I can't get the thing to download. I'll wait until later.

Hi Everyone,
I've had a chance to play with Inkscape. It can open Ai and EPS files. The software is equal to Adobe illustrator. A few comments on YouTube say the software is better than illustrator but I'm not sure. It will take a couple of weeks to develop an opinion on it.

I have it working and it's a good program, but I'll have to look at online lessons to grasp a lot of it.
